Carnon Downs SW790399
Gwennap SW 745407
Hopefully the links will work on Streetmap!
There is no public access to either site, but you can view through the chain link fences.
Sewerage works are attractive to birds as they attract insects, even in the winter.

Lucky you !!
I've spent a lot of time walking down your valley - used to pause around the area of Perranwell viaduct to look at the Jays on the far side of the river bank and also Firecrests - there must be Dippers there but never saw any.
There aren't that many places in Cornwall where you can walk fairly unobstructed and see so many habitats - I used to start at Redruth railway station and end at Perranwell or start at Perranwell and go to Trellisick or Flushing.
Another nice walk is from County Hall at Truro through Wheel Jane to St Day - bit of a shock to find Ostriches at Penweathers.

This evening a single female Hen Harrier roosted at Rosenannon Downs as did 67 Fieldfare.
A Woodcock was flushed from the verge near Little Trewollack.

Robins are busy singing away at this time of year, as are Song Thrushes and Blackbirds. I'd suggest a Robin.
