As far as birding news there goes, a Bellbird or two was calling there, Black and White Owls still live in Orotina's busy plaza, Southern Lapwings have taken up residence along the river near Tarcoles, and most wetlands have dried up thus concentrating waterbirds.Quebrada Gonzalez in Braulio has had several altitudinal migrants lately such as Band-tailed Pigeons, Quetzal (!) and White-crowned Manakin as well as the usual excellent mixed flocks. Olive-backed Quail-Dove has been seen near the trail entrance too. I am guiding a day trip there Sunday- will post an update under the Costa Rica birding patch thread.</blockquote>
