Exactly :t: As a new member I've been so intimidated to use the wrong terminology, that I only ask questions of a basic nature so my optically challenged tongue doesn't get called into question. Some of us aren't eloquent enough to connect the eye muscle to the tongue...and then to the keyboard. I wish I could, but then again would prefer to be able to play a guitar like Eric Clapton...but alas I suck at that too :king: My point wasn't to derail SD's thread, nor cause a rift on the board...but instead to remind the terminology police that the hobby is about fun. Our passions are about the "object" that we're viewing with optics, the optics just allow us to do it...and enjoy our hobby. I have owned alpha glass for over 20 years, and yet feel like a babe in the woods here...but learning and being challenged is part of the game. We appreciate the "Binoheads" here that slug it out over the tiny bits of this & that...we really do. I have been dumbfounded at the arguing and debate that takes place at times, thinking everyone's eyes see things differently. When a thread has 6k views, and 9 posters...you might have left the rest of us at the curbside somewhere. I have been fortunate enough to reach out to great members for advice, and been treated like an old friend...but you can see that in their posts, they are passive and knowledgeable. I was so confused in the SF thread, I reached out to Lee (Troubador) for help...without his thoughtful explanations and advice, I'd still be on page 47...Thank you Lee ;) Use whatever words fit the bill, use what expresses your viewpoint. Someone said "those words are emotions, not scientific terms" ...that's right, I get emotional enjoyment out of seeing my quarry,,,when it becomes stale and scientific to me, I'll quit and find another hobby. Best wishes, Eric
