Cyprus - suggestions wanted (1 Viewer)

Greek Cyprus has a huge shipping business with a very busy port at Paphos and many specialist small companies based there, it won't be a problem as long as the house has a large spare room which many properties do. They will have a much better quality of life there..... Fruitaria Papamicharl is the best Supermarket ( excellent butcher and traditional deli ).....outside of Limassol. Still very envious.

The thing I wonder the most is how are you gonna move to an island with all your books. Are you hiring a container ship? They are in ahort supply nowadays (I was actually shipping a container recently, I am not even kidding :))

And obviously the first thing you do ... is buy more books!
Books will be staying in the UK, not least because of the problems with the mould / fungus in Cyprus that many complain of.

Open house for you mate.

Are you currently in Cyprus? I read about a shake of 6.0 on the Richter scale ...

Would anyone know if Birds of Cyprus 3rd Edition by Peter Flint and Colin Richardson has gps co-ordinates for every site?
I have no idea which book you refer to?

The Helm guide to Cyprus by Ricardson and Porter is only a couple of years old so afaik, is still on the 1st ed.

Hi John

Sorry I have no idea but most sites in Cyprus are easy to find and Dave Gosney's guide is still fairly relevant albeit with seasonal and annual variations! Alternatively, you could ask about the location of specific sites that are of interest to you!

Thanks Shane, I haven't been to Cyprus for decades. I wanted the book to see wher to base myself as well as to see the best sites around that base. I have the Dave Gosney guide but thought there may e something more detailed out there.
