The Enantiornithes are the dominant birdgroup of the Cretaceous and many species have been described and had a worldwide distribution. The name means opposite birds and refers to an anatomical feature – the articulation of the shoulder bones – which has a concave-convex socket joint that is the reverse of that of modern birds. Within the Enantiornithes several ordi and familiae are described, when an ordo or a familia ends, I will mark this with: =====.
