See if you can get a trip in to Lundy for the day? Fantastic place, whatever I say about Lundy would not do it justice.

Sorry for the late report: first Turtle Doves purring at Haldon on Friday. Nice and close to the Mamhead (Obelisk) car park. Tree Pipits thin on the ground so far this year, hope that improves soon.

American Golden Plover showing very well still this evening. Go to the end of Swans Nest Lane. Park in end carpark. Walk along canal towpath towards Turf. Bird is a few feet behind the long narrow scrape in front of the main lagoon. Also there, a Hobby sat on a fence for ages, a drake Garganey on the main lagoon, 39 Pale-bellied Brent Geese flew up, then down the estuary, an escaped Bar-headed Goose, and reports of Yellow Wagtail and Whinchat this evening on the marshes. The Temminck's and two Wood Sandpipers were early morning jobs only!

Another Hobby on Withycombe Raleigh Common this afternoon, and yet another over my house in Exmouth this evening.

Berry Head this morning produced a female Redstart, female Wheatear, 14 Whitethroats singing, 7 Chiffchaffs, a Willow Wabler, a nice pair of Bullfinches, Rock Pipits, 1000+ Guillemots along with Kittiwakes, 2 Housemartins, 18 Swallows and 2 Cirl Buntings.
Sharkham Point was quiet this morning, 4 Whitethroats, 2 Chiifchaffs, 2 Meadow Pipits, singing Skylark, best bit was great views of a male Peregrine plucking his kill.

A Tern fest at Dawlish Warren first thing this morning, with 6 species present. 2 Roseate Terns, 4 Black Terns(though probably only 1 present after 8 am), 2 Little Terns and about 10 Arctic Tern in amongst 200 Common Tern. Only about 10 Sandwich Tern with the flock, which was feeding close inshore between the Warren and Exmouth. Also 10 Manxies lingering offshore. 17 Whimbrel, 2 Sanderling, 35 Dunlin and Ringed Plover on the beach. 2 Yellow Wags overhead and 8 Whitethroat singing.

Can echo that :t:
In addition to that, 2 Red-throated Divers offshore towards Langstone Rock.
Exminster Marshes - dipped American Golden Plover. Then gripped off shortly after I left with Wood Sand, Honey Buzzard and then the bl00dy plover returned. Can't win them all.

Okay, so busy watching my Exeter City beat Torquay 4-1 today, but had a brief visit to Yarner Wood afterwards in the rain, and found many Pied Flycatchers and two Wood Warblers giving plenty of vocals, so obviously in, in good numbers. Does anyone know if the Mandarins are ever seen here nowadays?

Hello all - second ever post on this forum!

I live in North Devon just outside Torrington & have a garden packed with birds & yesterday I discovered we have a pair of white throats in the hedgerow! I've been trying to get a photo but they're so full of the joys of Spring it's difficult!
