did you not go to suffolk!
Couldn't fill the final space. Turned out to be a good decision it seems, although I've no objection to Woodlark, Golden Oriole, Turtle Dove, Nightingale and Great Reed Warbler, which were all on offer aside from the Spectacled.

Welcome Emyjane - I live near to you at Barnstaple (if you see someone with a big white lens on the tarka trail between Barnstaple and Bideford that will be me)
I do not find Whitethroats the easiest to shoot, like you say they are always on the move.

Hi Roy

You should try Isley we watched one for ten minutes sat on the top of a bush with or without binoculars with 2 noisey children running around. I took absolutely no notice.

Thanks for that Stu, I normally walk around Isley a couple of time a week so will keep my eyes open - trouble with birds are they are allergic to big white lenses ;)

QUOTE]

Joe,

If you go to the Lundy Island sightings page, it's detailed there! Seen along the lower east coast path by Louise Jones in the morning.

Whether anyone else looked for it I don't know!

Cheers

I park at Bennets cross just past Warren House Inn then walk through the valley with Soussons Plantation on your right and follow the track to the farm, its all signposted. I believe there is a road that takes you straight to it. If you go through Postbridge and before you get to Warren House Inn take a right turn. Hope that helps.

Finally managed to connect with the AGP at Exminster this afternoon. Good views, although light was poor and it was pouring with rain which made digiscoping pretty hard.

Excellent numbers of Arctic Terns at Slapton Ley just offshore from the central car park this morning, 77 in all. Some lingering but most headed north by 11:00. Also 27 Sandwich Terns and an Arctic Skua which was hanging around.

A Temminck's Stint this evening on Exminster Marsh, on one of the pools in the middle of the marsh viewable from the canal path 50 yards south of the end car park with 2 Dunlin. (well done and a big thanks to Matt for finding it). Also 3 Greenshank but apparently no sign of the American Golden Plover by the lagoon this evening, though it was still there prior to 6am this morning.
