Hi Jerry, ok here's the thread: http://forum.astronomie.de/phpapps/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/1148568/Re:_Okular-Adapter_f%C3%BCr_Kowa-Ok Post #1148298 asks if anybody has experience to adapt the Kowa TE11 Zoom for astro. Post #1148346 recommends a 2" to 1.25" adapter and widening on the lathe plus 3 threaded holes with screws for holding. Post #1148366 shows some (apparently non-reversible) modifications of Optolyth and Leica eyepieces by epoxying the back of a cheap 1.25" eyepiece to the eyepiece and uses this contraption on astro scopes as expected and on the spotters he made a 1.25" centered hole into the plastic back cover of the scope body (which seems to snap in via the bayonet and is available as a spare part). Post #1148538 shows Zeiss, Leica and Kowa EPs side by side and mentions that the former two have a groove at the eyepiece end of the bayonet which can be used to center the adapter. The Kowa does not have such a groove and a white O-ring or so to further complicate matters. Post #1148539 states that the back cover of the Kowa body doesn't have a bayonet. Post #1148568 says that the plugged Kowa back cover cannot be used and maybe an adapter can be machined on the lathe since it looks that the bayonet flanges have the same diameter as the body below. If that is not the case one needs two aluminum half pipes for centering the EP in the oversize adapter. Or have a CNC shop make an adapter with the bayonet, if money is not an object. Post #1148596 instructs to widen a 2" to 1.25" adapter on the lathe to the diameter of the bayonet flanges. For the Kowa EP the adapter needs to be widened a bit more at the EP end to accomodate the rubber O-ring. And then remove 1/10 of a millimeter more for the paint cover. This should center the EP in the adapter. The screws are just for holding the EP - choose appropriate size and posititon. Post #1148636 has the OP thanking everybody for the input.
