Message: <blockquote data-quote="BruceH" data-source="post: 3252885" data-attributes="member: 106398">I found the opposite when doing an in store side by side between the Nikon EDG-II 8X32 and the 8X32 SV EL.  The Swaro had a slight washed out appearance where as the EDG did not.  Dennis of course said I did not know what I was talking about.  However, he has subsequently posted on multiple occasions that the little SV does indeed exhibit veiling glare.  I think Henry's test adds validity and some credibility to my subjective observations stated in my post from a couple of years ago.  Thanks Henry!!!<a href="http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=260462" target="_blank">http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=260462</a>I have done several more examinations of the 8X32 SV EL since the above comparison and have duplicated the results, and one case in particular was much worse.  The comparison was at a festival using samples direct off the Swaro table and the comparison was with a SLC 8X42.  There was a black fabric black wall behind the opposite booth.  The SLC showed all groves in the wall and the fine detail of the fabric.  The view looked looked like a flat black surface with SV 8X32.  The view of the SLC was spectacular and the difference between it and the SV was astounding.  To bad Swaro does not have an 8X32 version of the SLC equivalent to the 8X42 SLC.  That would be some binocular.</blockquote>
