Don't forget the landscape when you are out birding... (1 Viewer)

For me an important part of my birding experience is getting out into a remote area away from the bustle of the modern life and getting back to the meditative experience of being in a natural environment; feeling the wind on my face, the sounds of the waves on the beach or those moments of incredible stillness and quietude when all is at peace. While I'm out there looking for birds whether it be just for pleasure, for surveys or taking photographs of birds I find that I need to take in my surrounding just for the simple pleasure of being in "the moment". Sometimes we don't see the landscape for the birds so I thought I might chuck in a few images of some of the more remote places where I go birding and some techniques of the use of monochrome to bring back those moments when I'm back in the city...

... I'd love to see what places you have similar experiences...
