Duck seen at Budworth Mere today? (1 Viewer)

I saw this duck feeding amongst Mallards at Budworth Mere at Marbury Country Park in Cheshire this afternoon the tail was always raised as shown in my images.

I'm afraid its a Mallard hybrid type thingy aka yuck duck.

I don't know what is a thingy aka yuck duck, but it looks like a hybrid between Mallard and Muscovy Duck (domestic)!

yes does seem to have a bit of muscovy in it, maybe a muck duck, or a yuckovy

strange hybrid thing - the beak puts me in mind of a pochard (though nothing else in it does!)

I would agree with mallard x muscovy , due to the domestic variants involved this is one of the most variable hybrids...
