Great find and photo :t:

Mick H found it while walking a mates dog (he didnt even have any bins !)

quite comical at first, 4 of us there with one pair of bins to share

Unfortunately JBee insisted we use also use a pair of what appeared to be old opera glasses he found in his car

first time weve ever had to take turns holding a dog lead at a twitch !

Hope JBee posts the photo i took with his bazooka :eek!:

Not posted for ages, sorry, still been birding tho. Good views of B.O. this evening over Bowburn pit heaps.
Osprey in Co. Durham...wow, spent ages watching them in Glen Tanar in Deeside, Scotland.

Last seen today at 2.30pm in the bushes and on the walkway of the old railway line between the fishing pond and the first black gate.

still as you describe at 4PM (per CW)

Others there today inc Ad Med Gull, 4 Goosander over, imm Peregrine right over our heads, Kingfisher.
Close by in Seaton Pond area; Tree Pipit, another Peregrine, Little owl, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 1 Wheatear, 250 mixed Goldfinch/Linnet; with 3 Swift & a Buzzard at Warden Law.

Thornley woods today very quiet,just the usual tits, nuthatch,jays,squirrells and a fox.Oh and a buzzard crossing the a1 at the chester-le-street turn off.

apparently, it means two toes pointing forward, and two backwards......

Edit: 4th image of 1st set, does shows toes well (see JB, & you thought the days of pictures developing over time had long gone ;-)

For anyone who may be interested. A pretty good article in this months (Sept) Birdwatch magazine on where to watch birds in North Teesside by Ted Parker, Chairman of TBC. About the best desciption of birding locations in the area I've seen.
