A member/friend on BF suggested starting a thread for Eagle Marsh. Here it is. I only have a few photos, but will start it with what few I currently have. Digiscoping, so not the quality others might offer.

Please, post your stuff. Thanks!:t:

Here are a few from March 23, 2020. I missed timing my visit to when the sun was out, but still grabbed a few shots.

Not in order; Bufflehead, Pied Billed Grebe, Greenwing Teal, Blue Wing Teal, and Shoveler.

Yes, Ian, and we have YOU to thank. 3:) It was a good suggestion. However, a bit of a slow start, it appears.

Here are a few pics from my visit there on Wednesday. The deer was actually on Thursday, though. Wednesday was foggy until noon. The little Pied Billed Grebe played hide and seek, and at 200 yds away with the wind, did not allow for a very nice photo. They are so tiny compared to geese and swans. It is surprising when I see them close together.

Eagle Marsh has a plethora of species there. It is an amazing place.

Lesser Yellowleg, Song Sparrow, Pied Billed Grebe, Great Blue Heron, and Whitetail Deer.

A buddy of mine messaged me to let me know that Pelicans were out at Eagle Marsh. They were at the pond almost directly across from the Golf Dome. Thankfully, we were able to find them.

They soared around for awhile, and we thought they were leaving. However, they returned to the pond, and let us get some nice pictures. Very windy, so that made the pics a little wobbly.

My BIL, who was my partner this morning, spied a mature Bald Eagle waaaay off in the trees. Missed a chance at a clearer shot of him, but even through the trees we could see what he was. :t:

No problem, going off-thread. That is a great pic. I think your scope must have excellent optics. Great detail. Thank you for posting. I will head over to the UK gallery for those others. Thanks, again.

Here are a few I took yesterday afternoon. Lately, I almost live there. (NOT complaining about that. LOL)

Mergansers, Juvenile Merganser, Northern Flicker, a Coot, and a Swan.

That is great! LOL. Daisy looks like a corker. I appreciate the history too. What a beautiful place. Everything looks already green there.

You are ahead of me, when it comes to the posting the pics. I don't know how to actually have them in the post. Mine are all thumbnails, until you click.

Thanks for posting.

Funny that this is the ONLY thread in ALL of Indiana. I guess this site is not as popular on this side, I guess.

Oh well.

To continue with this thread, here are a few pics from this weekend.

Supposedly there is a Horned Grebe, and a Sora, that have been sighted at the marsh. I have not seen them, yet.

I've seen the Woodpecker and Kestrel and commented on the gallery.....all pics are brilliant.

If you look on threads with the name Fort Wayne you'll see that there was a forum back in 2003.... So you're not alone - there are others out there.

I don't know how to do 'thumbnails' !! So I'm not behind you......

Here's another pic behind my house this morning.....

Here are a few photos from Eagle Marsh and the last few days.

Lesser Scaup and Bufflehead drakes, Great Egret, Whitetail doe (acting very immature for the camera), Killdeer, and a Great Blue Heron.

Just noticed this photo. I think it is a Ring Necked Duck. I went overboard on editing it, because I was just trying to see what I could do with different photos. But, I did not keep anything but this heavily edited pic. I realized that it was not a Lesser Scaup, and it is the only photo I have of this duck.

Isn't it amazing that species vary from one country to another. The detail is superb.....what a lovely little bird. They are such a friendly little soul.

Off piste again ....I've posted this on the gallery......but just in case you haven't seen him, and he's not as handsome as your Bald Eagle but he still is very regal.....my Buzzard who lives in the meadows next to my house.

What a beautiful bird! Nice shot, Ian. I am glad you posted him.

I really like the raptors. They are so easily spooked, though. Nice capture.
