Good day!
I have here an Eastern yellow wagtail which I photographed this September at Kume Island (a small island off to the west of Okinawa Island).
I saw at least 20 of them, which were all subspecies M. t. taivana.
This certain bird looked like the subspecies M. t. tschutschensis.
Reasons are the following:
the supercilium is white (some say it's vaguely yellow...)
the throat area is also white
the colour difference between back colour and head colour
though, it may be just that it looks this way because it is mid-way into molting.
Any opinions are welcome! Thank you!
