I've just had a mini argument with Tescos supermarket (express) round the corner who have Turkish delight on sale for £1.04 per box on a little label but the display box has them advertised at £1.00 only, ie, 4p cheaper. I have told them about this 3 times now and twice I have bought and had the 4p knocked off but they still have the display boxes with £1 and yet the ticket still says £1.04. Ok not in the same league as the lens but it is the principal and it really hacks me off, whether it's right or wrong under trading standards to do this. Is Tesco's going too far?

Julian
Just a thought. Tescos eh? When last I looked the sale of goods act and consumer legislation it was illegal for companies to advertise goods at one price and then try and charge a higher price. Any legal buffs out there know whether this still holds true. I say it because obviously this would mean that legally they have to supply at stated earlier price and also it has been a let down for people thinking they were getting a bargain. You could force their hand. Julian
