But it is clear that Pinto was looking at specimens, only one of which he considered to be of certain origin, a female hunted by the principe Maximiliano in the forests near Nazaré, south of the "bay of All the Saints", State of Bahia. He then proceeded by naming the Bahian birds maximiliani, hence I presume that he designated this specimen as the holotype of his new subspecies.In a Brazilian ornithology context, a principe Maximiliano can hardly be anybody but <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Maximilian_of_Wied-Neuwied" target="_blank">Alexander Philipp Maximilian zu Wied-Neuwied</a>.</blockquote>
