Eristalis pertinax? (Cambs. UK) (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys

The second picture I believe is Eristalis pertinax, the very triangular body, yellow/orange feet on forelegs, darkish face, dark-exact stigma. The body makings look exactly like the picture in Ball & Morris (2nd Ed.).

The first picture is slightly different. There are no thin horizontal stripes on the body. The yellow markings are subtly different also. Maybe just the difference between male and female?

Could someone ID them for me?

Thanks, Gareth
