Just 10 minutes ago this hawk flew onto a near dead poplar. Is it is Coopers or Sharp-shinned? Many thanks!!!possible cooper hawk two.jpgpossible cooper hawk one.jpg

If a Coopers hawk or sharp-shinned hawk had grey upperparts and orange-brown underparts it would be an adult - and the underparts would thus be barred. Here, underparts are streaked - hence merlin. And there's the shape.
