Recently sent my NL42 in for hinge retrofit to accept the tripod adaptor. I did pay for the tripod adapter and show proof of sale. The retrofit is no charge, as I understand for the year since release (July?). Delivered today after a quick turnaround. The binocular was cleaned externally, new eyecups and covers, and new objective covers were placed. Physical checks made and verified. Looking forward to trying the kit out, may change my idea of not wanting to 'sit' with a tripod or walk. with a monopod. 12x

My NL 12x42 is in Absam, Österreich, at the moment being retrofitted as well. I bought the NL 10x52 together with the tripod adapter.
Since I have this tripod adapter now, I decided to retrofit my NL 12x42, because 12 power on a tripod makes even more sense.

However, I wonder how often I am going to use any of the NL's on the tripod. I like both without use on a tripod. I actually don't like carrying a tripod/monopod around.

same here. Swarovski Service said turnaround time will be around 7 weeks - hope to get it back before X-mas

Nice! Wondering how long did it take? About to send mine in for the retrofit.

biggest time suck is shipping 7+ days each way to west coast. Actual retrofit is "quick turnaround" as long as your not asking for bino services beyond the retrofit.
