Eyebrowed Thrush in Norolk (1 Viewer)

If ONLY I had known this yesterday when I was birding around Hunstanton Lighthouse - I would have scanned all the seafront gardens thoroughly!!!;)

So still a deafening amount of non-info on this bird...?

You would think that at least someone...from somewhere...could at least be kind enough to actually confirm that it is indeed an Eye browed Thrush...[even if the masses can't get to see it]...!

We all understand that we might not be allowed access...but hey...is it one or isn't it FFS...?

ps...all this 'hush shush' stuff is becoming a dreadful bore now....[tho i imagine that it might be amusing a few privileged souls]...?

Firstly, I bet the "report" from today comes from the wording of the tweet. If seen today and not realised it was sent late yesterday...

Secondly, we know Birdguides got this tweet, but what else? Surely they didn't mega this just off the back of an annon tweet, did they?

Couldn't agree more. Although I, and many others in Norfolk, have been trying to find out anything! All that I have managed to do is find any rumours that have started have all been found to be untrue!

Part of me hopes this is a hoax, but only because I don't want to miss out on a Norfolk mega! Unfortunately, I don't know everyone in Norfolk!!

I think the longer this 'situation' goes on the more likely it is to be a total load of unsubstantiated cobblers...and yes...maybe even a hoax...

As always...time will tell...it might be true...[but i get the paranoid feeling that maybe..if it is indeed a hoax...then there might be viewers on this thread having a right old giggle]...:cat:

Anyone seen a 'real' rare bird that we can have a look at...? B :)

All I can say is that I will be wandering around Hunstanton tomorrow (sad, I know!) and if anyone will like to join me...

Hopefully the Des(s)ert Wheatear will be some recompence if it's still there!!

Whilst you are looking - I can recommend some excellent spots for migrants in 'sunny hunny': the bushes on the cliffside immediately behind the sailing club on the front (just west/next to the clifftop gardens), the Millenium garden which is opposite the Bowling green and also the bushes in the pitch 'n' putt next to the bowling green and obviously the lighthouse garden.

Wish I could escape from work!

Good luck:t:

Just posted by our friend @TillSmith to Birdguides on twitter - "Update on the the EB.Thrush no sign of it today.I expect many will think its one of those hoaxes again its not"

So, whoever is making this up also reads BirdForum ;-)

Come on, plenty of Birdguides staff on this forum, share some more gen for all your subscribers! What more do you know to make it worth mega status?

I think this is most interesting Mr TillSmith is lurking on here, watching the fun but not contributing, even if it is just to say there can be no access for whatever reason. Which of course could be perfectly justified for any number of reasons.

If you were going to perpetrate a hoax, Eyebrowed Thrush in Norfolk would be a perfect combination.

Out of interest has anyone spotted who the shadow in the wings could ne, I have my suspect, but the libel laws don't permit me to say who, just have a look at the names logged on viewing this topic.

My vote is hoax, saves me taking the day off tomorrow.

Presumably some people have been looking for this "Eyebrowed Thrush" today?

Surely someone can shed some light on what has happened today.
