Vectis Birder
Itchy feet
Since getting home from a trip to South-East Asia and Australia almost exactly one year ago, I seem to have lost motivation and enthusiasm for going out birding. I haven't lost interest in birds, as I am happily watching and photographing the birds in and around the garden, it's just that I can't find the motivation to get out and about much and I have only gone out birding a handful of times in the past year. It's the reason I have not been posting on BF very much.
I know the cost of petrol is high, but I think that's only part of the reason I don't feel like going further afield.
I did go to Texas last month, on a non-birding trip, and I spent a morning birding and taking pictures in one of the state parks in the south western part of the state but, apart from that, I can't summon up any enthusiasm for going out and about.
Does this happen to anyone else? If so, what did you do about it and did it pass eventually? Is there a way of making the apathy pass, or will it eventually go away on its own?
