I was caught out by these as well quite a bit in my early birding life...Collared Doves weren't particularly widespread in the part of NW London I was brought up in and I remember trying to make the light brown Feral Pigeons into Collared Doves quite a few times. I think the ones talked about in the link I posted are probably captive bred anyway (seeing as the same link has hybrid Chicken x Turkey, Lady A x Golden Pheasants and my fave - Black Grouse x Hazel Hen! suppose the latter could be wild anyway)Jan</blockquote>
