Dear Friends,
Please be informed, feel invited and spread the news about the Final Conference of Life + GREATER SPOTTED EAGLE – a bird like no other! (LIFE08 NAT/PL/000511)
The event will be held on 27th January in the Biebrza Valley, in Poland (Osowiec-Twierdza).
The conference will conclude our project but also determine further actions in the conservation of Greater Spotted Eagles.
All that we have learnt about the species while conducting research within the project is now a valuable basis which allows us to decide what is needed to save Greater Spotted Eagles both in the Biebrza Valley and globally.
Results of satellite tracking show clearly that birds have to face numerous and serious threats on their migration routes, such as shooting and leaving poisoned carcasses (Greece and other countries of the Mediterranean and Balkan region) - http://en.orlikgrubodzioby.org.pl/a...ration-for-greater-spotted-eagle-conservation
Therefore, our conference will focus on establishing international cooperation in order to secure the routes and create a cross-border alliance for Greater Spotted Eagle and other migrating birds of prey. We have invited experts from Greece, Estonia, Belarus, Montenegro and Ukraine and we hope to start an effective international network for migrating birds in Europe!
Please check our website for texts, agenda and directions:
