Well I went out to look at the 8.5x Swarovision today (as well as the new Nikon astro eyepieces) and I have to say "WOW!" Definitely a new standard in 60deg AFOV binoculars. Superb field sharpness with a genuine HD look in contrast and color saturation. HOWEVER, I was also startled by the rolling globe effect as I quickly panned the cityscape. It was trully the first time I have ever seen this effect and found it a bit unsettling. Hopefully, it's something one gets used to or perhaps it's not as obvious in field conditions or if you don't pan around much. But if you are sensitive to this effect I could see how a few hours of it could make you nauseous. Still it certainly is an excellent binocular and Swaro should commended for pushing the technical envelope. I may take my wife to go look at it. She quite smoking as her 09 New Year resolution a year ago and this could be a nice "reward" for her effort. She collects Swaro crystal too so might appreciate the tie in and can use it on a few Winter birding tours we have just signed up for. happy new year, Rick
