First outing after the easing of restrictions (1 Viewer)

Today was my first chance to leave my district and meet a friend for a birding outing. We went to La Janda, SW Spain, an excellent place in winter for many birds. We saw about 500 Cranes, some White storks, 3 Spoonbills and 3 Great egrets. Also some Common sandpipers, 1 Greenshank and about 50 herons. There were surprisingly few raptors, the best being a Black winged kite. The best sight was a flock of about 300 Lapwings, the biggest flock that I have seen since my youth!
Another bonus was on my return to my house. About 30 vultures turned up, followed by at least a hundred White storks. A few minutes later 40 Cranes arrived, so there 3 flocks in the same area of the sky. A beautiful sight.
