Not sure why it won't play, maybe you're missing java or something it needs. Is great to look out and see them all sitting on the shed or next door's garage. They were all dust bathing in the bare soil in my border this morning. :t:

I will have to check what version of Flashplayer I have!:-C

Super photo's, Bill.
Here are two I took this evening. Through the window so they aren't brilliant. Second pic is second young Starling wondering why his 'Mum'(?) is ignoring him.

Afternoon all, we have lots of baby zulus in the garden I noticed them yesterday. They are baby starlings. I call them zulus because they come like zulus in the film. First one then anothere then HUNDREDS!!!! They come into the garden then fly off. It's amazing to watch. There has also been a baby blackbird hounding it's poor frazzled parents. No wonder the parents fly off so quickly! No blue tits as yet, the box was left again this year, though t'other Rose has got a brood kiner box. her is a parent though aking fed from the fatballs.
Happy days
Rose.

Nice selection there, Val. I'm still waiting for the hordes of baby Starlings to come, they must be around somewhere!

Here's one rather blurred pic taken through the kitchen window (and both birds managed to move!) and one taken through the hooked back door and window of the summerhouse (hence the funny white stripes across the middle!)...but I think you get the picture!

Love the pics Val and Wendy! Still no fledgling Starlings in my garden!

I watched your Video on my daughters laptop, Fozzy! Great viewing, I hope they are all doing well!

Thanks Pam - yes they seem ok and are feeding from the tube feeder (which is taking a real battering!). Haven't done a headcount (very difficult in my garden!) but I think I've 'possibly' gained some more as well.

Not in my garden but yesterday morning walking down and across the flood plain to the mill and lock not far from my house I found a family of Blue Tits feeding in the hedge, lots of little blue and yellow babies being fed by the adults! Lovely! Not sure if I'll see some in my garden but the Blue Tits I do see are looking very overworked!

I am pleased that they are all doing well and new additions to boot! Lucky you, Fozzy!

I have also noticed the Blue Tits coming for food are looking a little worse for wear and yet the Great and Coal Tits look quite spruce! I wonder why that is?

Had my first Starling fledgling in the garden this morning! Just one...perhaps the others are still feeling their feet..well wings! I also had a Red Kite fly over too, that was really exciting!:D

A red kite!! Wow! That is very cool indeed!

I have confirmation of Robin fledglings... at least three of them have been fluttering around the garden and lurking in the conifers! I snapped this one sitting in the lower branches of the elder just after dinner - will be keeping an eye out for more photos. I saw one earlier clinging to the brick wall under my bathroom window, it didn't look like a very comfortable place to rest to me! Also, after Springwatch I looked out and one was trying to sit on the window frame of next door's garage, but had to flap furiously to try to stay on the tiny angled strip of wood before giving up and fluttering down to the ground. Very cute. |:D|

Yes, Fozzy, very cute indeed. I have no idea where my Robin nests, but I'm certain they have young somewhere close as the adults are always in for food.

They can be rather hard to find at times I think, I was lucky that the ivy where mine were nesting was visible from my kitchen window.

Looked out just now and there are a minimum of fifteen house sparrow fledglings hopping around my garden! A few adults around too, but nearly every one of the sparrows I looked at was a youngster. They keep flying about the garden and going off into the bushes so it's hard to count them accurately but there are LOTS!! No wonder my seed feeder is being hit so hard, the population here has exploded! :eek!: :t:

About 20.30 yesterday, there was an almightly amount of squawking in the front garden and there was an invasion of young Starlings....at least 30 of them, they stayed for a minute or two and then, with the same noise, flew off! They have not been back this morning, guess they are taking cover from the rain, it's possibly the first real rain that they have seen.

Love the pics Fozzy and Val! I am so jealous of your sparrows, Fozzy!

Cor !!! 30 Starlings, Wendy! Mine have increased by one...so I have now had all of two Starling fledglings!

Great news, Pam....and three different varities too!

More of the same here, still hoping there may be some young Goldies around somewhere, there's lots of adult activity but no babies yet. Final pic is Blackie with a beakful just about to fly off to young.

I was wondering if I would ever see any young in the garden, Wendy! Hopefully this is just the start of many fledglings! Hope you get your young Goldies, I only get Goldies on a hop and a catch in my garden.
