Great news, Dave! I have had Great and Blue Tit youngsters in my garden this week, they are too flighty to get a pic of at present, the foliage on the trees doesn't help much either!

The adult Starlings are starting to squabble at the feeders now, funny how they tolerated each other when feeding their young chicks but now it seems to be every Starling for themselves.lol!!!

I saw two Magpie fledglings being fed in the back garden this morning. By the time I returned with the camera, they had gone.

I haven't either, Wendy, though we do get young Collared Doves. Strange that isn't it?
OH said there were four Goldfinches here today, he thinks two were young ones. I need to see them to be sure & of course, they aren't here now. Typical!!!

We have lots of baby Great and Blue tits at the moment.

By the way super pictures of the Starlings Pam, and Oncebittern. All pictures are super here.

Yes, we have lots of baby Starlings in our garden. One thing they are not and that is shy. Thy love our window feeder and sit in a queue to feed. I laugh when the birds try to sit on the angled woooden roof and they slid off :-O

Great news for your Dave to have Great Tits in your garden.

No young Collared Doves/Woodies here either. :-C

I wonder why young birds like Blue Tits always look they are jaundiced yellow coloured?

About 6 young House Sparrows were in the garden yesterday along with 3 fledged Cardinals! There's 3 fledged Starlings on the patio now ... demanding to be fed by Mum and Dad. LOL! They look like bowling pins and still need to get more food.

You're getting far too good with that camera Pam!
I see you have one of those shrubs (whose name I forget) that smells so strongly of pineapples.

I dared to venture over the fields to check on the Lapwings' progress today.
They've still got the two chicks and I'm adding a few more to my latest blog update in a minute or two, that will include a small identification quiz, if you'd like to have a stab...

The shrub/tree is Cytisus Battandieri. It has flowered well this year and the smell is delightful!

Juveniles update in my garden!

My juvenile Blackbird is growing up! The first pic I took of it on this thread was 17 days ago!

The Long-tailed Tits photo was taken last week. There were too many to count as they flitted through the garden! I haven't seen them since.

Another fledgling Blackbird in the garden last night being fed by dad! I seem to have only seen one Blackbird fledgling with parents this year, normally there are at least two.
Thought I would add a photo of a juvenile squirrel, just to ring the changes. I was surprised at the difference in the colour of the fur on the youngster to it's parent.

Haven't been able to keep an eye on my local fledglings as I've been away to Norfolk but I've seen the Robin fledglings are still hanging around, there are millions and millions of Starling youngsters in my garden (they HAVE been busy!), my resident blackbirds have produced at least two more babies and those were being fed in my garden yesterday afternoon, still a profusion of little House Sparrows around and there are two young Blue Tits coming to the peanut feeder. Haven't seen the older Blackbird fledgling (might have been sent off by the parents) or the young woodpigeon but am keeping an eye out.

These were taken about a week ago, but I've only just got round to downloading them.

The Blackies were fascinating. It was just as though the adult was saying
1. ' Here's some food.
2. ' You can have it when you follow me.
3. ' Go on then, but next time ... '.

The Spuggies were youngish, and were trying out the 'Rainbow Snack Bar '

Excellent, Baz....love the commentary!

Since I've been back I've seen young of Blackbird, Starling, Goldfinch, Greenfinch and Chaffinch in the garden. Plenty of evidence also that Robin, Crow and Jackdaw have young in the immediate area.

Hi Pam

Love your story, and your picture, about your Juv Blackbird. It is really nice to see them grow, I love the fact they have a stubby tail when are still being feed and it take a while for the tail to grow.

Your Long Tail tits are jsut so sweet. Never tire of thme and they are so endearing The ones in your picture prove that a lot.

Another nice shot of Mr B doing what comes naturally. Super dad he is.

Great squirrels shots too.

hi Baz

Love your pictures of your Blackbirds a whole lot. So sweet.

As for the Spuggies hiding in the flowers, now that is what a call a bit of picture art and it would make a lovely picture to hango on your wall any day.

Great posting everyone.
