Thanks for your lovely comments Pam and Kathy. I must say that I was chuffed with the outcome, apart from the third Blackie pic which is blurred. That comes from firing off in quick succession to achieve a series.

Hi Pam.
I've just picked up on your beautiful pics from Tues. 16th. You are so lucky to have the LTT family visit, and the young Blackie being fed is delightful. Thanks for sight of them.

Thanks for your kind words on my pics, Baz! The LTT's haven't been back since I took the photo of them. I expect they will soon be joining other LTT families and will be a delight to see en masse!

You have good reason to be chuffed with your lovely set of pics!:t:

Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate them. It's nice to take pictures of such beautiful subject matter.
The two chicks are still there and the parents are doing a fantastic job of defending their territory. I really hope that this might be the start of an annual event (two more adult birds have appeared in the last 48 hours). I have more pictures to add over the weekend (when, hopefully I'll get some time).

Thank for being brave enough to have a stab at the quiz on my blog.
I've posted your initial result there.
I'd love as many people as possible to have a go, though. So, please take a look - link in signature block.

I am saddened by the lack of fledglings in my garden. I have seen sparrows and there were a few starlings. I have to say though that I found my starling numbers WELL down on past years. I am so worried for their status here. Too many old buildings going here and the new ones are so anti nature. It makes me want to cry it does.

There was an almighty squawking and fluttering in the Leylandii boundary hedge this afternoon. I have no idea how many Sparrows, both young and adult were in there, but it sounded like dozens! More fluttering and they went back to the ivy on the neighbour's house where they have their home.

Send a few up to me please, Wendy! I have just 1 male House Sparrow that visits the feeders on a hop and a catch!

I will have to start crumbling the scones up smaller judging by what this mum was trying to get her youngster to eat! I watched the mum try a couple of times to get the youngster to eat it but it was having none of it.lol!!!

Funny how we have different 'common' birds in our gardens, even though many of us live in similar surroundings. I see very few of the tit family even in the winter, but am overloaded with Sparrows, Chaf, Gold and Green Finches, Blackies, Starlings and Woodies.

Love your last pic, Pam. I see 'my' Robin going off with a couple of suet pellets these mornings and wonder if I should be whizzing them in the food processor before I put them out!

Hi Pam

Love your pictures of your Blackie fledling. So cute, and I hope they like the scones soon!

Wendy: I think it would be a good idea to break up the Suet pellets. Even Suet Pellets can be on the large side for a youngster. Have you got the small suet pellets, or the larger version of the same thing?

Sad that you do not have so many young Tits where you are. We have lots of them here. My seed feeder is emptied once a day at the moment.

We have has all sorts here of youngsters and are not short of any members of the Tit family. They look so jaundiced coloured when they are so young

Our resident Robin and her 3 fledlings are so cute at the moment. The speckled chest of the youngsters makes them more appealing.
She is looking after them and they are following her footsteps.

Love this time of year it is just the best time to see youngsters about. o:) o:)

Just to prove that I'll stretch the boundaries of any thread title. Not content to include my fields as my garden, I'm now going to include juveniles in this fledglings thread. Hope you don't mind.
Here are a couple taken through double glazing yesterday in my GARDEN! Surprise surprise!;)
Two Tit cousins.
A Blue Tit eyeing up his very own Sunflower seed mountain!
A Great Tit trying to work out who that colourful fellow is.
A Goldfinch befriending his cousin Chaff!

Well done Simon;they are lovely pics. I just love the indignant look on the face of the Great Tit as he eyes the Bullfinch.

Great pics, Simon. Lucky you having a Bullfinch in the garden, the last time I saw one anywhere was several years ago in the fields around here.

I have juvenile Goldies too, but they seem a tad camera shy....I shall continue to try to persuade them to sit still long enough!

I had a pair of blue tits and their umpteen chicks visit me today for about three quarters of an hour. They cleaned out my roses of all greenfly and depleted my peanut supply. A lovely beautiful sight which makes all the expense of feeding worthwhile.
