This flower pops up in our garden every winter. It is one of the few colours we have in the garden this time of year. Does anyone know the name of it as I would like to find some more. A lovely sight in the winter.

Now known as Hesperantha coccinea. Many varieties in the red-white range. Easily divided to produce more.
 
Pretty sure I have grown these from seed, but it would have been in an indoor controlled environment rather than sown directly into the soil.
