Hi All, not the most exciting thing in the world but attached are a few pics of a couple of flies I saw on some umbellifers, feeding I think.
They were on ther edge of wet woodland - Holme Fen, Cambridgeshire.

I have no idea what they, any ideas?

If I enter it in observation.org (which has AI for species from the Low Countries only), it identifies it as Empis tessellata, which looks right to me.
