There have been a few suggestions recommending the Sapphire Ed 8x25. I think that has to be on my possible list maybe at the top and all roads seem to lead to the M7 8x30 and I'd like a 6.5x21 Papilio also, for bugging out. I think these are probably the low risk options for my online ordering as I am familiar with the Hawke Frontier PC 8x25, I have the M7 10x30 and the Pap has never had anything really bad said about it and the new version 2 seems to be an improvement. Slight concerns I have are, is the Sapphire colour rendition as rich as with the Frontier PC? My 8x43 Sapphire only seems to come alive with colour in sunny or lower light as in dusk but in plain daylight it can be a bit dead in colour tone but over all a great bin. Always a very clean view. The M7 has great rich colour but more CA I think as a side effect although it's tolerable to me so means it's pretty good. One thing I noticed is that greenery can seem to me (slightly colour blind in red/green) to be overcooked but maybe that's because I'm more used to the subdued neutral Sapphire. I actually thought the high red end of the M7 colour transmission figures would balance my colour vision but it seems to have enhanced green. Neither of these are major problems, just my most picky observations. I think one of my past Swarovski EL's was the best colour representation I ever had but my favourite was probably the Prostalk 8x56 ED which is very similar to my 8x25 Frontier PC slightly on the warm side. I really did like my Leica HD until they serviced it and then it never seemed the same. Maybe the Papilio should come first as I have already relatives of the other two.
