structure: long and narrow wings in LBBG with a very long primary projection in the sitting bird - short and broad wings in herring gull; but this needs a bit of experience.
'window': inner primaries, as seen in your bird usually are completely pale in herring gull, dark or just a bit paler than outer primaries in LBBG.
bill on average weaker in LBBG but careful with sexual differences: males have stronger bills than females in all large gull taxa. http://www.gull-research.org/hg/0start.html http://www.gull-research.org/lbbg1cy/0start.html
