Hello,
Ruby crowned kinglets, a Carolina wren, a female rose breasted grosbeak and most unusually, a yellow throat vireo have turned up. The latter would be a life bird for me. White throated sparrows have now arrived in great numbers.

Hello,
I have had a very bust October, often keeping me from bird watching. So I will try to do a little catchup. Incidentally, autumn, or fall as Americans often call this season, is in full colours.
I had the pleasure to see golden crown kinglets with their crowns in full display and Eastern towhees, a winter wren and a yellow billed cuckoo, a junco and a field sparrow and a song sparrow
.

The past few days have been an autumnal delight. I have seen black capped chickadees, tufted titmice, norther shovel(l)ers, wood ducks, and a brown creeper. I also saw a great blue heron catch a large fish, maybe 17 cm. long. He went out of sight, so I wonder if it was able to eat the fish

Hello,
Since my last posting I have seen few new birds but I did see a chipping sparrow, fox sparrows, American goldfinches in winter plumage and common grackles. Oddly, I saw the saw the grackles on the pavement, sidewalk, of a residential area near my home.
My recent walks to the Reservoir have yet to reveal any new waterfowl.

Northern shovellers,
mallards,
wood ducks,
hooded mergansers,
great blue heron,
black capped chickadees,
a plethora of tufted titmice,
red tail hawk,
American robins,
American goldfinch,
a junco,
a goldfinch,
mourning doves,
Northern cardinals, female
red belly woodpecker,
white throat sparrows
blue jays,
white breast nut hatches,
house finches,
Should you wish to visit New York City in the autumn, avoid Marathon weekend, the first Sunday in November, and Thanksgiving Day. Both occasions, and the day before, may have the highest hotel prices. On both days, Central Park visits are restricted, at least from the West Side.
