Are we still on the horses? Not that they don't have their merit or anything like that. I guess I am just going to have peruse the archives if I want to see any actual work. ;)

Here's what the 'table' looks ike at the mo - there's a map waiting for me to illustrate on the lappy and a bunch of scribbles from some chap who shows a bit of promise, should he bother to apply himself at some stage . . . . . . .

C'est pas ma faute, je suis anglais.
wow! are those the originals? I actually recognise some of these from his books! It's strange to see the work of someone as revered as John sitting on a desk as if it were by anybody at all. A nice reminder that these idols of ours are just human beings like the rest of us (but in Mr Busby's case an extraordinarily talented and pleasant one)

Ha! - The map's a graphic I have to turn into a bit of illustration - I'm not responsible for the composition (that's why it's ok!).
And the drawings are now safely into plastic folders, under three layers of cardbard and in my safe cupboard - my hands have stopped trembling now . . . .

When I saw those sketches, taking you literally, I thought , wow this person is certainly influenced by Busby, esp the group with the corm.....and I felt very jealous that the sketches were so good for a "beginner" seeing further comment, going back and parsing the signature, was a great relief.

It's his Gannets and other seabirds that really get me, both on a technical level and on another, my self imposed exile from all kinds of proper seabirds!

Must make Nick feel awful seeing this level of apparent tidiness;)

too damn right - I've moved back into the living room to paint - too damn messy in the studio, it's like slash and burn, destroying one workspace then moving onto the next.

For God's sake - I'm mortified!!!!
My links to the Cheltenham Festival have been curtailed by 'RacingUK' copyright. For feck's sake how much business do they think I'm nicking off them (and the clips are there on Utube anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Clearly they recognise the power this thread holds - ha haaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr ;)
Sorry - p!ssed again . . . . .

Well look on the bright side - they do recognize the power this thread holds! Just take a look at their site and make sure they're not filching links from here;)

Like Colleen I was quite confused here. Who did those drawings? Had you been very busy? Were they really John Busby's? Glad it all got sorted out, and that your hands stopped trembling and they were safely put away. A pleasure to see.

Those ducks you put on that little pond in the forest along the tributary are really well done!!! I'm sure you must have put some other little critters in that riparian forest, too.

pond ? what ducks? really?

Can't believe even this bit has your unmistakeable watercolor style and grace
much nicer to look at than the usual graphic pasteup
