Nice Tim - as per usual, lovely subtle glow on the nape...cool! Also, talking of skuas, just saw your winner in the BBC mag...shame they didn't print it a bit bigger to do it justice!

What can one say? Watercolour as it should be, lovely sense of depth too. Tugs at expletives on first view...

Can quote everybody today since I have to agree with everything that's been said. You've made great use of your opportunities Tim. A pleasure to view, especially knowing that these birds were all seen nearby. I happen to also like that dark blue-gray to the left of the bird. Just adds a bit more to an already exceptional w/c.

Yes, as has been said - this thread is a real pleasure to view......

I notice that it's coming close to 200,000 views - just think of the pleasure and delight you've brought to so many people right across the world, with every one of those 200,000 views!

Keith.

Hmmmm - looks like 200k is looming and I find my thread halfway down the page - just shows what a vibrant and thriving art community there dwells in these nether regions (ooo er, missis!!!). I suppose a quick thanks to all who have contributed far more interesting stuff than the originator of the thread would be in order and also for those stalwarts who have little else to do but read and view the drivvel that's presented forth.
No doubt this mini-event will pass reasonably unnoticed by the rest of the BF community, as did the BBC awards which were virtually clean-swept by members of the artforum on BF, but no ripples were caused elsewhere on the website. Never mind (or Nevermind, depending on yer musical taste) - we troglodites that dwell in the caves of Lascaux and Chauvet will continue to huddle round the glowing embers and speak in hushed tones of the days before f-stops and macros. Bon nuit! xx

just to second what mr U said

you should be proud of the little artists' commune that has sprung up here: twould not be the same and indeed largely would not be here at all without the constructive and supportive tone you set from post #1

Catching up - love the Hoopoes page! I am reeling a bit from entering into all of this and finding that there are such like-minded people in the universe...and loving it.

Kudos Tim, if not for you and your art I wouldn't be a bird artist at all.... first seeing your birds and being encouraged to work from life by you is what got me started.......here's to hundreds of thousand more hits and and a huge group of collectors who find you too.
