Birding the World
Despite seeing Harlan's Red-tailed Hawks on an almost daily basis, they have proven very hard to photograph. I get a decent shot here and there, but most days the birds are distant, backlit, or the timing is just off. I have managed about 1 day each month since November of having a cooperative Harlan's--each one has been different and today's was the most cooperative yet. The bird just kept circling--the light wasn't perfect, but all things considered the shots turned out pretty well:

My best shot of a Harlan's Hawk Yet

This one was on the birds closest pass, but it never banked into the light:
This one just barely missed being spot on

Not a post you see every day:
And this was kind of cool with the talons out to the side

And a few more shots:
Everything else can be seen here

Good Birding
