Garden / Yard List 2015 (1 Viewer)

Richard Prior

Halfway up an Alp

Yesterday I had Lesser Redpoll & Siskin within half a mile from here!

Hopefully they'll come close enough to get them on the Garden List H2, that's what's just happened here this morning, saw one of these earlier this month a few fields away, but today it flew past the window:

38 Nutcracker A good bird for mid-winter at the house, I usually have to wait till autumn to see them in the garden when they come down for the hazelnuts.
Also, I couldn't resist taking the attached picture to keep Ken on his toes, a solitary male that keeps hanging around the feeders this week (the Hawfinch, not Ken ;))

I know the feeling H....this last week I've had LSWdpckr. Tree Creeper, and Firecrest within 400m of the house. :-C

Richard certainly knows how to "keep me on my Hawfinch toes" :-C

Broke of from watching the "Tennis", looked out the bedroom window, usual Redpoll, a Corvid mobbing Buzby, then out of the blue...a Lesser spott. bounded into yonder oak before disappearing into the branches below. First grdn. year tick since 20th no.49. and only my 3rd certainly within the last 20 years! Am now off for a celebratory "Americano" :)

Congrats on the Lesser 'pecker, Ken. Not one I could hope to claw back!

Probably the same bird that I've had on 3 previous occasions in the woods behind, trouble is the bugger isn't calling, and I've only connected 3 times in 7!
Apart from a briefly calling bird in 2013, my previous...and that was the first for decades, was "up your way" on the Wrekin, Shropshire a few years before....so never say die H. :t:

Finally got a half decent shot today!
