Finally broke the "wren" famine this am also the Starling! 45 and 46 respectively.

You're right there Ken , nice one Barrie. Mind you I'm envious of anyone who sees any Gull species ;).

No new species to add here, but I've lots of entertainment, watching up to 50 birds all feeding on the seeds and apple pieces I've scattered on the only patch of ground not under 18 inches of snow(it's where the car was parked when the snow fell!) - apart from the handsome Bramblings, the best sighting was a stonking male Hawfinch yesterday.

You're probably right Brenda, I've replied with more detail on the other thread you started - there are some pretty ace birders on this thread (not me though;), so feel free to ask here, it's good for our brains to be tested!

Circa 600m from the house yesterday male Lesser-spotted Woodpecker and Tree Creeper...but alas can't be included :storm: however a flypast Mistle Thrush this am can be...no.47 ;)

Just done a recount and found that I haven't included Feral Pigeon!....no.48!

40 : Fieldfare

is a long awaited addition - often daily in December but not seen for a month.
And that Grey wagtail went past again!
