Nutcracker

(Suspected) Pied Kingfisher -can't see anything else that fits & an Egret sp.

and a second bird just a little further along eastwards -

and a third that I can actually see detail on -

This particular area looks quite promising already. My previous stop in Kampala had a lot of Black Kites overhead and some pigeons, another Pied Crow as well as a few birds that my best guess seemed to be Babblers (or similar long tailed birds).
The 1st & 2nd are fairly convincing (kingfisher with a crest, which other KF in the region don't have); 3rd is definite :t:

That makes
Abdim's Stork 106
Pied Kingfisher 107
African Sacred Ibis 108

If someone with way more experience/knowledge of African birds wants to have a look along that road there are at least 3 or 4 possibilities, in addition to Cattle Egret and a possible Avocet. One in a tree just before extreme end of road and a few on wires. There is also a single frame of a black and white (?) bird in flight with what looks to be distinctive plumage at the pools where the Sacred Ibis is.

Blacksmith Plovers (or Lapwings).

Thanks. Just opened the book to check - at the exact page, and it is so glaringly obvious - especially as I was getting a Lapwing 'feel' from one of the views!. I think I must've skimmed the illustrations - the juvenile is at top of the section so I need to take more time, next time around and look at all the illustration on the page, not just a quick glance over.

I’m still not convinced about the stork personally, I’ve seen lots of marabous in this sort of habitat in Kampala, but never Abdim’s.
Check the frames before and after; the bill (and neck & head) are clearly too small for Marabou. Apart from Abdim's, the only species I can see as possible is Woolly-necked, but I can't find any strong evidence for this being attached to suburban / human habitation.

Edit: beginning to think Woolly-necked may be a better option; go further up the road, and (showing the rear of its head & neck) it has a white upper neck / back of head:
