I believe my dad has already posted this once before but I wanted to find out whether these swift’s were more likely plain or common-

hard to tell but plain swift is my bet. slender appearance not chunky, long winged, deep tail fork, very little paleness in plumage... plain is much more common in the canaries too.
I thought it would be, same answer the last time the picture was posted. Honestly, I was much younger at the time and was not as good with ID's as I am now... just remember almost a huge group of almost jet black swifts.
 
When I visited Gran Canaria in December 2010, I too saw unidentified swift species. I learned that at that time of year, common swifts are nowhere near The Canary Islands, but, rather, thousands of miles south.
