Grey heron or common crane (Istanbul, Turkey) (1 Viewer)

Very little detail of plumage, I am wondering if it is possible to identify this bird based on the physical form. Common crane is a rare passer-by and grey heron is common in Istanbul. In the field I was sure that it is a heron, but going through the photos, I see the neck as very thin and stretched. Gulls are chasing the bird here, and when the gulls are chasing the grey heron sometimes show unusual neck figures. But I have never seen the neck as thin and stretched as it is here. May be you have? Date is December 2022.
