We went to the beach this weekend with our camera and decided to take a closer look at all those little shorebirds. We have some ideas, but confirmations and corrections are much appreciated. Thanks!

Here are our guesses:
1) Gull-billed Tern
2) Northern Gannet
3) Red-breasted Merganser
4) Sanderling, non-breeding
5) Snowy Plover (No, this one isn't injured. He got up and walked away right after I took this picture :t: )

Presumably the Snowy Plover was distracting you by feigning injury and had either eggs or skulking young nearby?
