Happy new year everyone,

Hoping to find an uncommon gull species during the north winds, I photographed this individual today. (btw Yellow legged gulls are dominant in the area and other species sometimes show up.) This bird I thought might be a heuglini and I want to hear your valuable comments.

Thank you all

Happy new year babuccu!

I’ll attempt to give you my invaluable opinion fwiw!
Looks to have a long-ish bill without any pronounced gony-angle and a pale iris also from what can be seen a small-ish mirror on P10-9…thus I’d suggest a YLG x Caspian hybrid.

Cheers

babuccu, sorry for the late answer. it looks like an adult or subadult Yellow-legged Gull to me, note pale eyes, 'athletic' structure and some contrast in wings between remiges and coverts, seen from below. must be a bird with low hormonal level since most michahellis already have a white head at this time of the year. Happy New Year!
