Gull - Thames Barrier Park, London late August (1 Viewer)

Be interested in views on this bird from late August.

Pics taken into bright sunlight so mantle looks darker than it was - the pic with the LBB and GBB show mantle colour compared with them and also size.

Large gull with yellowish legs in the field. Had put it down as a sub-adult YLG, but maybe hybrid?

that's exactly the question, stuart. but apart from the very dull coloured legs i see nothing wrong for it being a 4cy YLG. it has a very solid band on the 4th generation p5. bill shape is ok as well as the extended orbital in front of the eye, something that herring gull is not likely to show. also, gape is really red.
