gyrfalcon prey on bonxies? (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
Does anyone know if gryfalcons prey on bonxies? or vice versa? According to my book gryfalcons are well known for taking out large gulls even GBB gulls! I wonder do they eat bonxies as well?
Nope unfortunately though pom skuas are included in their prey list. Some of the corvid species can fight evenly with some of the smaller raptors like the kestrel so I am not surprise the skua is capable of robbing falcons.
I asked an ornithologist I know this question once and he said that in almost 30 years of studying Gyr Falcons he'd never seen them prey on Great Skuas (or vice versa) - he thought Great Skuas were simply much too powerful to fall prey to Gyrs.
