dipped on the Stanpit Marsh Wilson's Phalarope this morning, but it looks like Farlington would have been a better option, reported today: spotted crake (lake), temminck's stint (stream) , spotted redshank, curlew sandpiper, osprey, merlin, wheatear, whinchat, water rail

Osprey at keyhaven, along with curlew sand and little stint. I hope the osprey is a long stayer, as the ones so far are only quick passers through, and i havent seen one....

On Sunday, the Keyhaven Osprey (an adult) took its second fish from Avon Water over to the IOW! Especially good value when harrassed by one of the regular hobbies. A little bit more elusive than last years juvenile but it seems to be finding Avon Water to its liking.

Black necked grebe reported at pennington, osprey was seen again on the avon floods. I suspect the curlew sand and little stints are about too.

Re the bluethroat, i would have thought tim.p or marc.m would know, though neither have a pc.
I bet farlington + keyhaven are gonna be busy this weekend!

Correct, Curlew sand was on Fishtail and two Little stints on the lagoon East(ish) of Butts.

I didn't manage to find the Bluethroat though either y'day or today, Osprey was good value this morning. There was also a lone Guillemot (looking not too happy) drifting around by the jetty at Pennington. Plenty of other good birds around too.

saw pretty much the same as tom:

Hobbies
Knots
Bar + black tailed godwit
Snipe
Wigeon
2 or 3 spotshanks
Lots of kingfishers
Wigeon
Pintail

I saw the kingfishers in several different places - including on a telegraph wire 20ft above the water, a post on the edge of the saltmarsh and and the dead tree opposite fishtail!

Tim also had a marsh harrier

Can add to your list this afternoon at Keyhaven (as far as the Butts only also):
Yellow wagtail and loads of swallows/martins over the harbour; Rock Pipit; (3)Sandwich Tern; (40+) Dunlin; lots of Ringed Plover; Prob. one of the Hobby that you mention, a juvenile, near the point; Shoveler; Raft of 6 Eider and Reed warbler along there too. Lots of Knot, as you say, plus Grey Plover.
At least 3 Clouded Yellows amongst the plethora of Whites, a few Red Admirals and Peacocks.
Sadly no Little Stint or Osprey!

Only got to 43 species from 2-5pm !

Oh yes ... also met "Steve the Birder" too. He's way too young to know that AC/DC is a band!!
