Aldershot till I die!
I'm afraid it didn't show for JohnnyH tonight! I waited with Richard until 6:20 but no show. Never mind I'll be back, the next 2 evenings don't look too promising both for me personally & the weather so it's the weekend I reckon.

Really good views of three buzzards circling low over Ash Green this morning.
From being a rare sight 10 years ago we now see them very regularly from the garden. Lovely :t:

Hi Allan,

It wont be too long until you see Red Kite over your garden too. They are spreading from the Chilterns and are starting to be seen between Guilford and Farnham.

John.

Managed to get to Tice's Meadow today (22nd). Saw 2 LRP at 7:30 but had to wait until 15:00 when finally the sun shone to see 4 Wheatear (1male/3female) near to the large metal gate to the silt pond. A dozen Teal on the flooded meadow with a Tufted Duck and 2 Mute Swan in the workings.
At Tongham GP no sign of any Sand Matins or Swallows. 2 Wigeon still present and 2 Chiffchaff calling.

The most Mute Swans I have heard reported at Tice's Meadow. Maybe due to that I had a report of at least 5 swans have been found dead around Tongham GP mostly/all first winter birds in the last couple of weeks due to unknown reasons. Maybe the resident breeding pair are taking control of the lake.

Reported this evening (27th) a Curlew and 3 Wheatear at Tice's Meadow.

The meadow looks its BEST EVER for waders. With no warm weather forecast we should go into April with the water level at its max and should last to at least the end of May.

Hi allan,
Moor Green is a lovely place. Its near Finchampsted next to the river Blackwater. The best car park is on Lower Sandhurst Road. (Put that in google maps and you'll have no problems)

These two links might help you. I hope you visit as it is a lovely place and theres very often lots to see. There are two hides but you do need to be a member to use them but there are public viewing screens beside them. There's also the "new Workings" to west of the site which can be very good for waders.

I hope this helps.
