Don't know if it has been knocked off the list, but I have seen Colorful Puffleg in Colombia, together with Guy Kirwan, Lars Pettersson, Steve Webb and others

I have not yet seen the AMAZNIG Colorful Puffleg, but it is becoming easier and easier every time.... check a couple of neat pictures by Carl Downing and Nigel Voaden!..

;-)

Thanks, Carlos, I have added the Geelvink Pygmy Parrot and the Numfor Paradise-Kingfisher to the "not seen" list.

Larry

I've seen the Pygmy Parrot (1992) but didn't find time for Numfor so retain the KF for now - Ficedula has seen it (BF memebr) but not sure he has visited the thread. Rob Hutchinson has I think cleaned up on Biak ( I missed the Monarch)

You can almost certainly add Kofiau Monarch and Kofiau Paradise Kingfisher. I don't know anyone who has seen those.

cheers, alan

Hi, Alan,

I have moved the Geelvink Pygmy Parrot to the "seen" list. I have also added the Kofiau Monarch to the "not seen" list.

* The Kofiau Paradise Kingfisher was already on the "not seen" list.

There are five (5) other pygmy parrots in addition to the Geelvink variety: Buff-faced, Finsch's, Meek's, Red-breasted and Yellow-capped. These I have added to the "not seen" list.

Note: The updated list can be viewed on Page 2, Post 39, of this thread.

Larry, I've seen the first, fourth and fifth. I'm sure plenty of others will also have seen the second and third? They are fairly common where found although their small size can make them difficult to locate.

I have moved the Buff-faced, Red-breasted and Yellow-capped Pygmy Parrots to the seen list. That leaves the Finsch's and Meek's still on the "not seen" list.

Note: Ficedula has posted to this thread in the past. He has not seen the Numfor Paradise-Kingfisher (per.comm).

This is a bird I would like to see someday. I am sure someone visiting this thread has seen this bird. Who will be the first to report seeing it (when and where)!

Added to the "not seen" list.

If it makes you feel better, in exchange I dipped on Bristle-thighed Curlew, a pretty bad miss for a ABA birder going to Nome
