Hawfinch invasion (1 Viewer)

Over the last 2-3 weeks there seems to have been an unprecedented number of Hawfinches moving through. Here in the London area there have been multiple site sighting everyday of mostly flyovers over this time period. Normally only a couple of sightings each winter. Any ideas on the origins of these birds?

I'm presuming they are probably (largely) not British bred birds?
