Hawk ID - Central Southern Texas (1 Viewer)

Juvenile "Krider's" Red-tailed Hawk. White head. They winter over from Des Moines, Iowa along the southern Mississippi River between the Waco, Texas area east to Alabama down to the Gulf of Mexico per range maps in Wheeler's "RAPTORS of Eastern and Western North America." (Wheeler identifies 'Kriders' as the Pale Morph of the Eastern Red-tailed Hawk at page 320 in the Western Edition.)
